Lead Your Families Wellness Revolution
How Natural Remedies Can Transform Your Families Health & your Life
As we move toward the building and the revolution of ‘The New Earth’, many of us are remembering the ancient ways of living, being and healing. We are reconnecting to nature, the elements and ourselves.
There has been a notable resurgence in the exploration of ancient healing modalities, with herbal remedies gaining significant popularity. More and more people are opting to delve into naturopathic or Ayurvedic remedies instead of immediately seeking out Western medical interventions.
While this shift signifies a growing openness towards alternative healing methods, it also presents a new challenge: determining the most suitable natural remedies and grappling with the potentially high costs associated with ‘alternative’ natural treatments. This dilemma often leads one back to the allopathic Western medical system, which is undoubtedly profit-driven rather than genuinely focused on individual health and well-being.
The prevalence of prescription medications, the commercialization of cancer treatments, and the adverse effects of hormonal interventions on young women seeking contraceptive solutions underscore the need for a more holistic approach to healthcare. For parents, choosing natural healing options can be daunting without a foundational understanding of simple remedies that can mitigate the need for frequent medical visits - altogether!
Embracing a natural lifestyle and unifying yourself with the natural world (which we are not separate from!) can empower you to not only heal common ailments and quite literally reverse disease, but it will strengthen the family’s immune system and proactively safeguard your well-being which will reduce the likelihood of falling ill in the first place!
As a parent of three young children for nearly seven years now, I have wholeheartedly embraced natural healing methods and have not once felt the need to rush to hospitals, GPs, or even alternative, natural healthcare practitioners. Through dedicated study and application of natural remedies, I have successfully fortified our family's immune systems, creating a haven of healing within the walls of our home – right in our kitchen.
Consequently, when illness does strike, there is no panic or uncertainty; we have equipped ourselves with the tools and knowledge required to navigate health challenges confidently. This reliance on natural remedies and preventative lifestyle practices not only fosters a sense of self-sufficiency but also nurtures a profound connection to the simplicity and efficiency of nature as our one true healer.
Natural Child, Happy Child
By embracing natural remedies, eliminating toxic foods, frequencies, and habits, and adopting a completely natural lifestyle, we are blessed to be living an abundant, healthy life! We are able to focus only on strengthening ourselves further, proactively enhancing our immunity and full-joying the fruits of life! Living in this way is significantly reducing our chances of falling ill in the first place.
This conscious choice to say no to the main-stream ways of living, being and healing has not only liberated us from illnesses and diseases but has also deepened our connection to ourselves, each other and the natural world. We are now so attuned to our family’s natural rhythms that even minor imbalances are immediately apparent. This heightened awareness allows us to swiftly detect early signs of illness in our children, such as subtle changes in energy levels, mood or even breathing patterns. By promptly addressing these signs, we can prevent minor issues from developing into full-blown ailments.
In rare cases when a fever or illness does occur, it naturally runs its course within 12-24 hours. Our children naturally fall into restorative sleep and flow into a rejuvenated state the following day, sparking renewed creativity and vitality. Our proactive approach involves accessing the necessary remedies, whether it be gathering healing herbs to prepare herbal baths, steams or infusions, or simply allowing our children's bodies to naturally combat the illness.
The goal is not to suppress symptoms or seek instant solutions but to support the body's innate healing processes and immunity. As a result, our children rarely fall ill, defying the common expectation that children would experience frequent colds and flu. I was shocked to read an article recently that stated children WILL experience 6-10 colds per year and that number would increase if the child attended school or daycare.
Despite the statistics suggesting otherwise, our seven-year-old daughter has encountered only a handful of colds in her lifetime, attesting to the effectiveness of our preventive and holistic health strategies. Likewise, our younger children, aged 2 and 4, have both thrived with this approach.

Implementing Natural lifestyle Changes at Home
If you are new to low-tox living or implementing natural remedies for your family, it’s likely that you may come up against some resistance from either your spouse, your children or your wider circles. When dealing with this resistance I have found that the best way to convince everyone around me of my choices is to first ensure that I myself and convinced!
Do the research, read the articles, but most importantly tap into your inner wisdom. Be sure of yourself. Trust your instincts and trust in nature. When we can be sure in ourselves it becomes much easier to convince others!
Within your own family ensure communication is open and flowing. If you have older children talk to them about why. Encourage them to ask questions and tell them the truth! They need to know the faults in our societal systems, the disservice of the multinational grocery store chains and the ways their conventional foods are being poisoned!
This goes for our younger children too, who are likely to be more adaptable and curious. I have found that the more we share with our youths, the more empowered they become. It’s not about telling them ‘ no you can’t have that ice-cream because it’s bad for you’. It’s about sharing with them about why it’s bad. What are the consequences of eating these foods? Where does it come from? Who made it?
I have felt affirmed over and over again when my children consciously choose the healthier option when two options have been given to them. They know that processed sugars and refined foods are going to cause problems. They have seen obesity, disease and rotten teeth. And they are already aware of the causes of such disease. At 4 years old, our son play’s cafes’s and serves his mud-cakes with ‘coconut sugar’ and asks me when I’m cooking - “is that the good wheat or the bad wheat?”
Balance
Balance is Key. Over the years I have come to realize that eliminating toxic foods altogether is also not sustainable. Yes it has to be the majority of the time. Yes it has to be the norm. But If we don’t allow our kids to experience the other side as well there is potential for rebellion and confusion and even perfectionist tendencies later in life.
God made humans strong and resilient. God created a perfect ‘human design’ that is adaptable, flexible and ever evolving. So to be stuck in a constant loop of over-thinking every tiny thing that goes into our bodies is also counter productive. Let there be some flexibility with the foods, drinks and frequencies we consume as well. Let’s face it, we’re not going to be thwarted if we have the occasional deep fried feast or a ‘real’ birthday cake!
However these things will add up over time. Our digestive system is a delicate balance of microbiome. So it is important we don’t go to the extreme either way. I find it freeing to allow our children to consume sugar and ‘junk food’ occasionally. Maybe a birthday or if we’re traveling and there’s literally no other option! But then to balance this, I would suggest a gentle ‘detox’ in the days or week following. Boost up the herbs intake, boost up the fruits and veg or even have a couple of days ‘fruit-feasting’. We go deep on the topic of fruit feasting in our previous blog ‘The Revitalising Power of Fruit Feasting - you can read it Here
We also explore gut health in depth - here.
Let us be open to change and growth and open to new ways of healing ourselves and our families or remedying common ailments. Let us remember that these ‘new’ or different ways from the mainstream are actually the first, most ancient ways. This way of life can feel daunting in the beginning, but I promise you, once you’ve taken the first step and convinced yourself, the freedom of governing your own health will have a ripple effect - touching every aspect of your life and quite possibly inspire every-one around you!
We do give thanks every time.
